Little Otsu Film Diary

A few weeks ago my friend and fellow Blogger,  FuriousBow, told Informed me that Little Otsu created and sold these marvelous little journals for keeping track of my reviews regarding films. This gem is titled, 'The Film Diary' and I am so very excited that I listened to her about this product and made a point to order one for myself.

I anxiously logged onto my laptop and followed the link she had sent to me. I found that the Little Otsu website was cleverly arranged and exceptionally easy to navigate. I was delighted to find that not only does this company produce ‘The Film Diary’ they also sell many other varieties of journals as well as planners, calendars and much more.

After adding ‘The Film Dairy’ to my shopping cart I returned to the main site and browsed the sections in case something else caught my eye. Needless to say, I now have a list of items that I will be purchasing in the future from Little Otsu. To my keen low-cost shoppers’ eye, I was pleased to find to virtually every product was reasonably priced. Also, each product displayed ample images which allow the shopper to view the product almost entirely before making their purchase. This detail is something any online shopper is thrilled to see as often we are purchasing items online expecting the item to be delivered to our homes in one condition and finding that our initial mental picture does not reflect the actual item.

I placed my order and within seconds I received an email from Little Otsu thanking me for my purchase and ensuring further communication regarding its shipment.  As I did this shopping later in the evening I awoke the next morning to find that I had received the email confirmation showing that not only had my diary been shipped but also the tracking information for the package. Again, this detail is something a modern online shopper truly appreciates. Within days I opened my mailbox to find my diary waiting for me!

Although my excitement about receiving my new ‘Film Diary’ was notable I must admit that the packaging Little Otsu uses far exceeds standard expectations! The book was neatly wrapped in brown paper which had been folded neatly around the book. The paper was hand taped on the backside of the book and stamped with the Little Otsu logo. Those two attributes added a touch of personalization that made me feel as if this was a gift given from a dear friend.

After carefully unwrapping the brown paper, inside I found the exact product I had seen only days before. The artwork on the cover is almost breathtaking while at the same time not so intricate that it distracts the eye. Inside the cover, on the first page, it shows the comforting image we have all seen as children where the owner (me!) can label the book as belonging to them and also how to contact them if the book is found. While I know this may seem insignificant to some, I found it to remind me of how excited and proud I would be as a small child when I was gifted with some amazing piece of literature.  Again, Little Otsu has taken an extra step in making this diary feel like it was gifted with love.  Within the first few pages I found a few cards; two of which showed images of their other products however the third card showed a handwritten note thanking me by name for my purchase.  At this I literally sighed aloud and realized I was grinning ear to ear.

Thumbing through the pages I found that there were ample pages that were labeled for my reviews of films as well as my thoughts on the theatres that I would see said films in. There are pages devoted to listing future films that I plan to see and also a clever little index where I could track my reviews via an alphabetical system.  Each page is cleverly designed with ‘homey’ feeling handwritten labels and still manages to leave adequate space for my reviews.

To say that I was pleased with my purchase from Little Otsu would be a grave understatement.  Little Otsu has managed to mass produce a product that does not leave the consumer feeling like, well, a consumer.  It sincerely felt as if this was handmade for me; from the packaging to the honest website design, Little Otsu earns the buyers trust and respect in a time when far too often online companies fall short on actually providing quality products and pleasing their customers.  Lastly, I am pleased to mention that all of this ‘extra’ care Little Otsu provides does not hike the cost of their products.  ‘The Film Diary’ is being sold currently for $10 and that in my opinion makes all the pleasurable aspects seem even more of a courteous act.

FuriousBow has also blogged about her Little Otsu shipment.   She also included far more pictures of the packaging as well as a different Little Otsu product.

Little Otsu also has a Tumblr page where other customers have boosted their excitement about the company and their service as well as their products.
